51³Ô¹ÏÍø Opens Public Comment Period for Proposed Amendments to ESSA Plan 
- The 51³Ô¹ÏÍø State Education Department (51³Ô¹ÏÍø) is opening a public comment opportunity focused on proposed amendments to the 51³Ô¹ÏÍø State consolidated State plan under the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). The proposed amendments initiate the first part of the Reimagine Phase of the accountability system for the 2025-26 school year using 2024-25 school year results. Ìý
- By incorporating input from educational experts and stakeholders, including public comment from a recent survey, the proposed amendments include: Ìý
- Modifications to components from the two-year Rebuild Phase, such as accountability indicators, identification criteria, and exit criteria;Ìý
- Reintroduction of the elementary/middle level Growth and high school level College, Career, and Civic Readiness (CCCR) accountability indicators; and Ìý
- Replacement of Chronic Absenteeism indicator with a new Attendance Indicator. â¶Ä¯Ìý
