Important Notice For 51³Ô¹ÏÍø State Educator Certificate Holders:
If you hold a valid 51³Ô¹ÏÍø State Classroom Teacher, School Leader, or Pupil Personnel Services certificate, you are eligible to be hired to coach by a public school district without holding a coaching license. You should not apply for a coaching license. Coaching license applications received from educator certificate holders will be withdrawn, and the application fee will be refunded.
Please note that the following certificate holders are eligible for Coaching Licenses:
- Teaching Assistant
- Transitional B
- Internship
Changes to Coaching License Document Collection Procedure:
As of November 1, 2024, districts wishing to employ coaches must verify, collect, and retain CPR and First Aid credentials of the coaches. An additional attestation has been added to the Coaching Superintendent Statement to be completed by the district representative. The Office of Teaching will no longer accept CPR or First Aid documentation. First Aid and CPR certification must be completed with an approved provider. Coaching Licenses are available in the following sports.

An individual who has never held a 51³Ô¹ÏÍø State coaching license must apply and meet the requirements for a Temporary Coaching License.
