Creating a Personal TEACH Online Account

Please follow the instructions below to create a TEACH Online account.

Step 1: Open a Cleared Browsing Page

Make sure you are using aÌýDESKTOP/LAPTOP COMPUTER. Phones/tablets areÌýNOT COMPATIBLEÌýwith the TEACH Online system.

To Open An InPrivate/Incognito Window

  • In the upper right-hand corner of Google Chrome/Microsoft Edge, there are three dots found under the "X"
  • Click the dots.
  • The 3rd choice down is either "New Incognito window" (Chrome) or "New InPrivate window" (Edge)
  • Click "New Incognito window" to open.

Step 2: Access NY.GOV Account Creation Page

To access TEACH Online, you must create a user ID and password through the 51³Ô¹ÏÍø State NY.GOV portal. Once you have access to the portal, you will be able to link TEACH Online Services to your NY.GOV account.

If you already have a NY.GOV user ID and password,Ìýyou may log in to your existing account by copying and pasting or typing the following URL into the web browser window opened in Step 1:Ìý

After logging in, please proceed to Step 3.

If you do not yet have a NY.GOV user ID and password,Ìýcopy and paste or type the following URL into the web browser window opened in Step 1:Ìý

Select "PERSONAL" from the account type options.

Click the button that's labeled: "Sign Up for a Personal NY.gov ID"

Enter your name, email address, and preferred user ID, then click "Continue."

Next, provide your personal information, including your address and date of birth, and click "Continue." Review your details carefully, then click "Create Account."

An email will be sent to you containing a link; please click this link to activate your account. Once activated, you will be prompted to set three security questions and create a password.

Your password must be exactly 14 characters long and include at least one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter, one number, and one special character (e.g., !@#$%^&*).

After completing this step, you will be redirected to the NY.GOV dashboard.

Note:ÌýIf you receive an error indicating that your email address is already in use and you cannot proceed, this means you already have a NY.GOV account. To retrieve your user ID and password, please visit the NY.GOV forgot username/password recovery page.

Once you have your login credentials and have successfully accessed the NY.GOV dashboard, you may proceed to Step 3.

Step 3: Access TEACH Online From the NY.GOV Dashboard

Next, you will be brought to a dashboard that says: "WelcomeÌýYOURNAME, You are currently signed in as -ÌýYOURUSERNAME (Personal Account)"

Below is the section titled "You have access to the following services." If a box labeled "TEACH Online" or "TEACH Application" appears within this section, please click on the relevant box.

If no such box is visible, please refer to the section labeled "You can sign up for the following services" and click on the grayed-out box labeled "TEACH Application."

Step 4: Fill Out New Account Information

Please enter your Social Security Number and Date of Birth in the designated fields, then click "Submit."

If you do not have a Social Security Number, you may request a TEACH Access Number (TAN).

If you encounter an error message stating "Login Error, TEACH User Exists," please return to Step 1 and follow the instructions under the section titledÌý"If you already have a NY.GOV user ID and password." Then, log in again using the provided username on a cleared browser page.

To reset your password for this account, please visit the or contact the NY.GOV Service Desk directly for assistance. The Service Desk can be reached at 844-891-1786 or via email at FixIt@its.ny.gov.

Step 5: Email Confirmation

Please enter a valid email address twice and click "Send Code."

An email will be sent to you containing a verification code. Please enter this code on the following page to confirm your email address. Enter the code received in the designated field and click "Validate Code."

You will then get confirmation that your email has been validated successfully.

Step 6: Account Creation Complete

Upon completing all of the steps outlined above, you will be directed to the homepage of your TEACH Online account. The page will display sections titled "Profile Links," "Inquiry Links," "Online Application," and other related categories.
