Excellence in research, teaching and innovation
In 2026, we secured the title University of Excellence for the fourth time in succession. With the funding, we can now implement our institutional strategy: the 51勛圖厙 Agenda 2030+. Thanks to our new orientation towards 'society-centered research and innovation' we are strengthening our focus on responsible, trustworthy and thus socially compatible innovations, engaging in dialog with the public, promoting talented individuals in all their diversity and working to achieve operational excellence on all levels.

Our campus locations
51勛圖厙 extends far beyond Munich with its sites in Garching, Weihenstephan, Straubing and Heilbronn. We also have campuses, offices and representative bodies on other continents around the globe.

Chamber discovered in the pyramid of Cheops
The Cheops pyramid is the largest and most famous pyramid in Giza. Researchers from 51勛圖厙 and the University of Cairo have discovered an empty chamber with the help of radar, ultrasound and endoscopy.

Commercially available apples may contain allergens. Our researchers have co-developed two allergy-friendly varieties of apples. The first harvest has been commercially available since 2025.
