Living architecture

Trees have the potential to become living building blocks of architecture. Ferdinand Ludwig and his team at the Professorship of Green Technologies in Landscape Architecture are researching this pioneering concept. Their goal is to integrate plants into architectural concepts as supporting structures, not just use them as design elements. One outstanding example is the 鈥淎rbor Kitchen鈥� from 2022 鈥� a growing structure that uniquely combines functionality and plant growth.
