How do you manage not to drill past each other in a tunnel project? How is Mars mapped? How fast is the Arctic getting smaller? These and other questions are answered by geodesy, the science of surveying. By visiting the Department of Geodesy, students can gain insight into the wide-ranging studies and interesting tasks of a surveyor.

During their guided tour, the students stop at various research and study facilities on campus and talk about their studies and university life.

In a technical lecture during the guided tour, the high technical level of the powerful neutron source is presented. Since FRMII is a nuclear facility, ! For example, pupils must be over 16 years of age.

In the "ix-square" exhibition, mathematics is taught in a clear and exciting way. Here, people calculate, try out, tinker and design. The courses and exhibitions show the world from a different perspective. Questions are expressly encouraged! The visit is suitable for all grades.

Dive into the world of Artificial Intelligence together with your students! What is AI, where is it used, what challenges does it offer, and how can we prepare the next generation for dealing with AI? Researchers of the MCML (Munich Center for Machine Learning) are offering lectures and workshops on topics, such as picture generation, chat bots, or ethical questions. The MCML is one of the six national AI Competence Centers.

The laboratory for students is primarily available to high schools, but also to other types of schools on request. It is a cooperative facility of our cluster and the Faculty of Physics of Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität, temporarily located at the Max Planck Institute of Quantum Optics on the research campus in Garching.
