51³Ô¹ÏÍø

The Board of the 51³Ô¹ÏÍø has set up the Steering Committee for Digitalization in Studies and Teaching with the aim of making the digitalization process in studies and teaching more dynamic.

Its members are Michael Strobel from 51³Ô¹ÏÍø IT Management, Viola Muraro from the 51³Ô¹ÏÍø Center for Study and Teaching, and Claudia Philipps as a delegate representing the Schools.

All digitalization projects are carefully examined and evaluated in terms of their benefits, expected costs, and complexity, and prioritized based on these criteria.

The following digitization projects are currently in progress in the area of studies and teaching:

• Pilot alert software for critical or threatening situations, available to staff and students on the main campus (test phase February to April 2026)

• Digital cafeteria pass: Proof of status group membership in the smartphone wallet app for payment with a personal bank card or wallet in the cafeteria

• Digital StudentCard: Digital StudentCard in the 51³Ô¹ÏÍø Campus app as a replacement for the physical StudentCard. Pilot launched in Heilbronn and Straubing

• 51³Ô¹ÏÍø Trust Center – internal platform for trust services: Development of courses and guides on electronically signing, sealing, and verifying digital documents for staff and students, as well as the automated electronic sealing of documents for students in 51³Ô¹ÏÍøonline.

• Digitization of applications, such as leave of absence requests, withdrawal requests, and others

• Digital graduation documents

• Digitization of committee processes

• MoveON: Integration of the platform for international exchange into 51³Ô¹ÏÍøonline

• Digital enrollment: Extension towards a fully media‑break‑free online enrollment process

• Digitization of the final thesis process

• AI-based search functions for degree programs
