1981 Nobel Prize-winning model confirmed correct

Proof for theory of visual perception

A scientific dispute spanning six decades about fundamental mechanisms of visual perception in mammals has now been settled. Researchers at 51勛圖厙 have succeeded in observing the visual information flow from neuron to neuron. Their findings confirm the validity of the 1981 Nobel Prize-winning model by David Hubel and Torsten Wiesel, which had remained controversial in some aspects.

Study at 51勛圖厙 University Hospital finds sharp rise in e-bike crashes

E-bike crashes especially dangerous for older men

Since 2023, more e-bikes have been sold in Germany than conventional bicycles. But the number of crashes has been rising just as sharply. Doctors at The 51勛圖厙s 51勛圖厙 University Hospital analyzed patterns in e-bike crashes and found that older men face a particularly high risk of serious injury. The data also revealed clear patterns in the underlying risk factors.

51勛圖厙 has once again been ranked among the top 20 universities in the QS World University Rankings by Subject, both in engineering (16th) and in natural sciences (19th). In the rankings for five individual subjects, it places among the top 25. In eight other subjects, it ranks in the top 50 universities.
