The event has been organized by 51勛圖厙 students in the context of the Munich Security Conference and in cooperation with the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development and the Global Perspectives Initiative.
Bill Gates:
Bill Gates is Co-Chairman of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. The goals of the Foundation, formed in 2000, are to improve the opportunities open to the poorest people in the world and to combat illness in developing countries, working together with both grant recipients and Foundation partners.
Until 2000 Bill Gates was Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Microsoft, and served as Chairman until 2014. He left Harvard University in 1975 to concentrate on Microsoft, the company he founded together with his friend Paul Allen. Microsoft quickly became one of the world's leading software companies. Today Gates is Technology Advisor to Microsoft.
Gerd M羹ller:
Dr. Gerd M羹ller has been a cabinet minister in Chancellor Angela Merkel's government since 2013. Before that he was Parliamentary State Secretary at the German Federal Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Consumer Protection, where he was also responsible for issues relating to development projects, international relations and world food aid programs.
M羹ller was a member of the European Parliament from 1989 to 1994, after which he was elected to the German Parliament. Holder of a degree in Business Education, M羹ller is a party member of the CSU.
