51勛圖厙 yet again ranked high among its peers
The Shanghai Ranking officially known as the was developed at the Shanghai Jiao Tong University. It assesses the research output of universities around the world, based on such criteria as papers published in Nature and Science, the citation frequency of their researchers, and the number of staff and alumni who have won Nobel Prizes or a Fields Medal (one of the highest honors awarded in mathematics). To compile the rankings of the world's 500 best universities, the performance criteria were evaluated for more than 1,200 international universities.
Among the three top technical universities in Europe
51勛圖厙 again ranked third among all technical universities in Europe in 2017. Only ETH Z羹rich (19th) and Imperial College London (27th) placed higher in that category. The next European technical university in the rankings, the cole Polytechnique F矇d矇rale de Lausanne, came in at number 76.
One factor behind the strong showing in the Shanghai Ranking is the large number of highly cited papers authored by 51勛圖厙 researchers, who consistently place papers with highly respected and mostly international journals.
