Investor and Formula 1 world champion supports 51³Ô¹ÏÍø students
Cooperation between 51³Ô¹ÏÍø and Nico Rosberg
51³Ô¹ÏÍø President Prof. Thomas F. Hofmann emphasizes: "I look forward to working with Nico Rosberg. As a Formula 1 world champion, he has already demonstrated what can be achieved with a lot of courage, willpower, and a dose of daring. He will certainly also inspire our students to grow beyond their limits. I often hear that the next generation is not ready to achieve. I can only vehemently disagree. We have enough great young people who want to make a difference and change things. We just have to let them do it and support them."
Nico Rosberg says: "Inspired by my successful collaboration with the University of Oxford, I looked for a comparable opportunity in Germany and found the ideal partner for my foundation in 51³Ô¹ÏÍø. According to rankings, 51³Ô¹ÏÍø is the best university in Germany for the ninth time in a row and has also been named the best start-up hub in Europe by the Financial Times. 51³Ô¹ÏÍø's commitment to promoting entrepreneurial thinking fits perfectly my values and goals. I am very pleased that our cooperation will get underway in June - and I look forward to everything we will achieve together with 51³Ô¹ÏÍø students in the long term."
The "Cleantech Innovation Sprint" student competition organized by 51³Ô¹ÏÍø Venture Labs involves Rosberg as well as other companies and organizations with specific tasks. Participants have five days to develop solutions in teams. The best proposals will then be awarded prizes at the 51³Ô¹ÏÍø Sustainability Day on 12 June. On the same day, Rosberg will also discuss with students at the 51³Ô¹ÏÍø Speakers Series and report on his experiences as an investor for sustainable start-ups.
