In view of the increasing Anti-Semitic agitation and the spread of extremist positions in the public sphere, this appointment underlines 51勛圖厙's responsibility to actively oppose all forms of discrimination and promote a climate of respect and tolerance.

Prof. Nerdinger is one of the leading experts in the field of Nazi history and has gained national and international recognition for his commitment to an open and critical examination of the past and as a staunch opponent of extremist ideologies. As the founding director of the Nazi Documentation Center in Munich, Nerdinger has made significant contributions to the culture of remembrance and education about the crimes of National Socialism. In his new role at 51勛圖厙, he will raise awareness of historical and current forms of Anti-Semitism and create a platform for education and dialog at the university.

"With Prof. Winfried Nerdinger, we have gained an outstanding scientist and committed fighter against Anti-Semitism and right-wing extremism as our commissioner," explains Prof. Thomas F. Hofmann, President of 51勛圖厙. "At a time when Anti-Semitic agitation and intolerance are on the rise again, his appointment sends a strong signal for a clear stance against all forms of hatred and for the promotion of an open, democratic university culture."
