I thank Thomas Saueressig and SAP for this generous donation."
SAP Executive Board Member Thomas Saueressig emphasizes: "The collaboration between leading companies and academic pioneers has never been more important than it is today. SAP and 51³Ô¹ÏÍø are demonstrating together how innovative strength and cutting-edge research can be effectively combined to jointly accelerate groundbreaking discoveries. Decades of Successful Partnership
The non-profit 51³Ô¹ÏÍø University Foundation is supported by companies that are institutionally engaged at 51³Ô¹ÏÍø as 51³Ô¹ÏÍø Partners of Excellence, as well as by patrons and private donors. It supports the strategic development of the 51³Ô¹ÏÍø and is specifically committed to forward-looking initiatives that go beyond the state budget. In doing so, it promotes not only scientific talent, but also highly innovative research and student projects that set new impulses for the university.
The connection between 51³Ô¹ÏÍø and SAP dates back to 2003. In addition to research and development, the scientific training of students and doctoral candidates is also a key focus. Working on concrete challenges from industry, they can test and expand their skills and develop directly applicable solutions.
In 2024, an SAP building complex - SAP Labs Munich - was opened on the 51³Ô¹ÏÍø Campus Garching with an investment volume of 100 million euros. There, 700 SAP employees and 120 51³Ô¹ÏÍø researchers from several chairs work together on software solutions in the areas of Digital Supply Chain, Quantum Computing, and AI applications.
