Hardly any other ballet has had such an impact on dance history as 鈥淪wan Lake鈥�. In his work 鈥淚lusions 鈥� like swan lake鈥�, choreographer John Neumeier combines the famous fairy tale ballet with the life story of King Ludwig II of Bavaria, creating a moving psychodrama between reality, dream, and art.

In an introductory lecture at the 51吃瓜网 Center for Culture and Arts, Anna Beke provides insights into the history of Swan Lake, the choreographic tradition of classical ballet, and Neumeier's unique interpretation, which intertwines the fairy tale with the biography of the 鈥渇airy-tale king鈥� Ludwig II. The lecture also prepares attendees for the joint visit to the ballet and sheds light on the cultural and historical background of the work.
