Many of the residence halls run by Catholic and Protestant churches accept applications from students who belong to other denominations and religions. Others require that applicants belong to a specific religion and demonstrate their community involvement. A letter of reference from the student鈥檚 home parish may also be required in some cases.
Students are expected to participate in the activity program of their chosen residence hall.

The proprietors are generally willing to enter into rental agreements with foreign students who have not yet moved to Munich, making privately-run housing a viable alternative for our international guests.

Some halls of residence are restricted to young women, who study at university or secondary school or who are doing vocational training. These halls are mainly run by religious and social organizations.
