Scholarships for International Students
Here we would like to inform you about the scholarship for international students.
General information
51³Ô¹ÏÍø awards scholarships for international students funded through budget resources from the Bavarian government.
It is a one-time financial aid between €500 and €1,800 per semester. You can reapply every semester. The maximum funding period is 36 months.
Please note:
The results for the summer semester will be sent out by mid-July.
The results for the winter semester will be sent out by mid-December.
Requirements:
- who are not eligible for µþ´¡´Úö³Ò due to their nationality (²õ±ð±ð&²Ô²ú²õ±è;§8&²Ô²ú²õ±è;)
- as of 3rd semester in thei motr bachelor‘s studies enrolled at 51³Ô¹ÏÍø
- as of 2nd semester in their master’s studies enrolled at 51³Ô¹ÏÍø (or as of 1st semester in their master’s studies,
if the bachelor degree has been completed at 51³Ô¹ÏÍø) - submission of the bachelor's thesis or master's thesis not before 30 June (summer term)
and 31 December (winter term) - Merit: good academic records
- Proven need
Note: Receipt of a waiver or waiver scholarship is included as income - low parents' income (see BaföG)
During the leave of absence the scholarship won´t be paid.

Documents for the application
Please prepare the following documents for upload (pdf files):
- Motivational letter
Please explain your financial status (100–200 words in English or German) - CV/resume
- Residence permit
- 51³Ô¹ÏÍø grade report (can be downloaded from 51³Ô¹ÏÍøonline) Deadline: 15 November / 15 May
- two recommendations
- not older than one semester
- Proof of applicant’s income (12 months)
- bank statements of the last 12 months of all bank accounts
If not in German or English language, a certified German translation is required by a sworn translator (with official seal!)
(winter term: 01 April – 30 September and summer term: 01 Oktober – 31 March)
If there are incoming payments, please explain directly on the bank account statement what kind of payment it is
(for example: salary, parents support, scholarship, loan ...) - and further documents if applicable (work contract, internship contract, scholarship notification, loan contract, µþ´¡´Úö³Ò notification, etc.)

If applicable: Birth certificates of your own children
- bank statements of the last 12 months of all bank accounts
- Proof of parents‘ income or proof of income of spouse if applicable (12 months)
- if not in German or English language, a certified German translation is required by a sworn translator (with official seal!)
- not older than one year

If applicable: Certificate of residence registration of the spouse, if he/she lives in Germany
Further information:
- Only complete applications can be accepted.
- If you or your lecturer hand in the recommendations later, the deadline (15 November / 15 May) must be adhered to.
The application can be submitted online during the respective application period. A link to the application form for the summer semester 2026 will be published during the application period.
